Collect and Distribute Bread

Recognizing that food insecurity is a major issue on their island, GivingTuesday Philippines leaders mobilized the generosity of hundreds of people to help. Inspired by and in partnership with The Bread Project Philippines, GivingTuesday Philippines organizers created the “Pass the Bread” campaign that tackled hunger directly and inspired Filipinos to share kindness and get involved in their communities together. Restaurants, bakeries, and even grandmas in their kitchens made and donated bread of all types including mingo buns. “Bread puts such an easy smile on someone’s face, especially someone who might be hungry,” said Willy, a volunteer and participant in the activation. They distributed over a million pieces of bread!
