One week. That’s all that stands between you and TogetherTuesday.

The planning is done. Your activation is taking shape. Now it’s time to focus on two things: making participation easy and building excitement for June 23.

A successful TogetherTuesday activation isn’t complicated. It’s all about making it simple for people to get involved, understand what’s happening, and share it with others.

Here are a few final checks to set your activation up for success.

Make It Simple (Future You Will Thank You)

If something feels complicated, simplify it. Your setup doesn’t need to be fancy; it just needs to work.

A strong, simple system often looks like:

  • One clear way to give (Venmo, PayPal, or a donation button)
  • One easy way to sign up (Google Form works great)
  • One place to coordinate (WhatsApp, email list, a Facebook group or a group chat)

Then ask yourself: “If I were seeing this for the first time, would I immediately know what to do?”

If not, adjust it now.

Do a Real Tech Check (Not a “We Think It Works” Check)

This is your last chance to experience your activation the way your community will. Walk through everything like a first-time participant:

1. See your email or social post

2. Click through your link

3. Sign up or take action

4. Receive confirmation

5. See the “thank you” or next step

If anything feels unclear, clunky, or broken, you have time to fix it now.

Make This Your Biggest Communications Week

This is the week to turn up the volume.

Social media — This should be your biggest momentum-building week
  • Use your hashtag consistently
  • Share real community stories
  • Spotlight partners and participants
Email — 4–5 sends leading up to June 23
  • Keep messages short and action-focused
  • Remind people how to participate
  • Share progress and stories as they happen
Local media — Time for follow-up outreach
  • Your press release should already be out
  • This is the week for interview pitches and follow-ups
In-person visibility — Don’t skip this step!
  • Posters in community spaces
  • QR codes at local businesses
  • Flyers in high-traffic areas

Every message should reinforce the same story and make participation feel easy and inviting.

Share Stories That Move People to Act

People don’t share events, they share feelings. A story about why your activation matters will travel further than any reminder post.

As you head into the final week, share stories that reflect the spirit of your work and the impact you’re hoping to create. Visit the Be The People Stories page and follow us on social media for examples of people and organizations taking action in their communities — and let those stories inspire your own.

You can also add your story to your Project Page on BeThePeople.org and help others discover your activation through the platform’s Stories and Opportunities features.

Your Final Checklist

Before you head into TogetherTuesday week, confirm:

  • All tech tools are tested and working
  • Sign-up and donation flows are simple and mobile-friendly
  • Social media content is scheduled or ready to post
  • Email communications are planned for the final week
  • Press outreach has begun or is starting now
  • Physical materials are printed and placed where needed
  • Messaging is consistent across all channels
  • Shared assets and resources are organized and accessible
  • Team roles are clear for the final week
  • You’ve completed a full first-time user test

Need a last-minute resource? Visit the TogetherTuesday landing page to access everything you need in one place, including planning tools, promotional resources, and Canva templates to help spread the word during the final week.

Once You’re Ready, It’s Time to Get Excited!

At this point, success isn’t about doing more — it’s about getting out of the way. Remove the friction. Clear the path. Make it easy for people to show up and participate.

You’ve done the work. Now let your community come together!
