The joy of generosity can be experienced in many ways – by giving time, treasure, talent, things, and testimony. We’ve seen that the smallest actions create a ripple effect that spreads outwards. When communities abound with generosity, it is possible to unlock dignity, opportunity, and equity around the globe.
In the last 11 years, led by a distributed network of inspiring and entrepreneurial movement leaders, GivingTuesday has scaled to almost 90 countries. These leaders come from all walks of life and inspire individuals, nonprofits, and businesses throughout their communities to practice generosity as a way of life. The GivingTuesday generosity movement has been in India since 2017, and is celebrated on the Tuesday of DaanUtsav – India’s festival of giving that is observed between October 2 and 8 each year.
Building on the belief that local challenges are best solved by local leaders on the ground, the India Hub supports local leadership, collaboration, and innovation throughout the GivingTuesday network in India. GivingTuesday leaders are supported with tools, resources, knowledge sharing, and connections to the global network of GivingTuesday country movements and global leaders. The Hub also plays a key role in expanding GivingTuesday’s collaborative data work to better inform and inspire the social sector in India and around the world.
