TogetherTuesday isn’t complicated. Check in on a neighbor. Organize a tool swap. Share a skill. Coordinate a donation drive.

Any action that says: I see you, and we’re in this together.

When we act together on the same day, it creates a signal: care isn’t rare or exceptional, it’s something we practice daily. It’s part of how communities function, not something outside of them.

How You Can Participate

Everyone is welcome! No registration or permission needed.

There are many ways to engage. Choose what fits your capacity and goals:

Connect your project to TogetherTuesday

Already doing something in your community? Use #TogetherTuesday to highlight it and bring more people in. This is about sharing and strengthening what already exists.

You can also share your TogetherTuesday project on Be The People’s website to help extend its reach and connect with others taking action.

Try a one-time project

Bring people together around a simple, shared action for TogetherTuesday. This could be a neighborhood cleanup, a shared meal, or a one-day volunteer or donation drive.

Build something lasting

Use TogetherTuesday as a starting point for something ongoing in your community, if you have the capacity. This could be a recurring mutual aid effort, a monthly volunteer day, an annual community event, or a local giving circle.

Start with What Matters in Your Community

Begin by identifying a challenge in your community and one concrete action to address it. It doesn’t have to be big. What matters is that it brings people together around something needed.

Think across three dimensions:

  • Community Care — clean up your neighborhood, collect goods for families in need
  • Community Connection — share a meal, host a Love Anyway Feast or The Longest Table
  • Community Engagement — Organize a blood drive, coordinate a nonprofit fair, or organize a volunteer day

Looking for inspiration? Explore stories from communities already taking action on the Be the People stories page.

Tell Your Story Clearly

Make it easy for people to understand what you’re doing and why it matters. Focus on a clear, specific story about your community and the role others can play.

When sharing on social media, break longer content into simpler formats like short posts, emails, or videos that highlight your impact. Center the people you serve and the difference your work makes, then connect that directly to how others can help make it possible.

People want to help solve problems, so make it easy for them to see how to join in. Mix up your formats and pay attention to what resonates most so you can focus your energy where it has the most impact.

Set a Goal That Draws People In

Your goal doesn’t have to be monetary. It could be the number of people who show up, meals shared, items collected, or actions taken.

Choose something that feels both achievable and energizing, and invite others to help make it happen.

Visual tools can help build momentum, check out our Canva templates (with more being added regularly) to bring your goal to life.

Mobilize Your Team

Start with the people already around you, your team, volunteers, neighbors, or community members.

Who’s excited about this? Who has skills or ideas to contribute? Invite them early to sign on. If you’re planning something, don’t just rely on social media, reach out through email or text to people who you know already care.

TogetherTuesday is about collective action, and momentum builds quickly when people feel included from the start.

Make It Easy (and Fun) to Participate

The more accessible your idea is, the more likely people are to join.

Lean into what makes your community unique. Keep things simple, welcoming, and joyful. When participation feels easy and meaningful, people show up, and bring others with them.

Need an example? Take a look at Lasagna Love, a global community that makes it easy for anyone to give back by sharing a home-cooked meal.

Keep It Going!

TogetherTuesday can be a moment, but it can also be a starting point.

After your activation, follow up. Share what happened, celebrate the impact, and keep the conversation going. Even small actions can spark something bigger over time.

Don’t forget to tag #TogetherTuesday on your socials!
