Our idea is to create an innovative effective, social media outreach effort geared to the Puerto Rican diáspora, that makes a strong credible appeal, a case for support for the Island’s people through the support of life-saving and life-enhancing yet economically devastated social, health, educational, environmental, cultural, public interest and other third sector institutions. The initiative can help other national, ethnic and other communities throughout the globe with similar, large diasporas to engage their emigrants in local philanthropic efforts by showing effective methods of outreach and engagement on #GivingTuesday, national holidays (e.g, Independence Days), and other occasions that can be used to promote collective philanthropic giving.
