After running GiveIndia as its COO, in 2009 she founded GuideStar India which has emerged as the most exhaustive source of NGO information, strengthening the infrastructure for the Indian philanthropy ecosystem and helping donors find reliable NGOs of their choice from the more than 10,000 Indian non-profits listed. Pushpa is also a Global Leader for #GivingTuesday India.

“Generosity is being able to feel the pain and suffering of others and giving whatever you can, even if it hurts you a bit.”

This project aims to help people develop their individual (retail) fundraising muscle by providing hands-on support in creating and executing successful online fundraisers. The project covers storytelling, crafting donation asks, mapping donors, communications and outreach, data gathering, and analysis. Learning methodology includes webinars, coaching, practice sessions that involve running fundraising campaigns on crowdfunding portals and getting their own payment gateway link at arguably the lowest cost in India. The project concludes in March – April 2021 after participants learn from the collective data gathered from their real campaigns.
