Phil McGrath

An experienced practitioner with over 30 years in a range of youth and community work settings in both statutory and voluntary sector settings. 19 years experience as Chief Officer both in an Inner-City Estate based, Community Development Charity and in a large multi-disciplinary, locally based Charity. Experience of leading VCFS organisations through periods of rapid change ensuring engagement of all stakeholders including Trustees, funders and service users through robust, Mission led communication. Experience built up over a number of years in Community Organising and Asset Based Community Development. Maintained and developed documentation in accordance with Charity/ Employment/ OFCOM/ OFSTED/ CQC/ Health and Safety Legislation. Identified local need through a Community Organising approach, developed responses and secured resources to tackle needs. Experience of supporting a community of people with and without learning disability through a Quality Improvement Plan relating to care and accommodation. Experience of gaining funding through Tendering, Service Level Agreements, Trust Fund applications, encouraging legacies and through fundraising events and campaigns.  Excellent, confident and articulate communicator at strategic and grass roots levels. Experienced and inspiring leader.  Innovative practitioner, able to develop creative responses to complex issues. Child protection and safeguarding officer. Able to balance the needs of the Organisation with the needs of the stakeholders to ensure maximum impact. Accurate at budget prediction and able to respond effectively to fluctuations in a constantly changing financial landscape. Proven ability to generate income from Trust Funds, Contracts, Tenders, Statutory and Government sources, Events and Legacies in excess of £8.5m in the past 10 years. Excellent knowledge and understanding of the challenges being faced by the Voluntary Sector and able to mobilize resources effectively to meet these challenges. LMC The Cornerstone

Currently developing work at LMC The Cornerstone towards increased post lockdown community engagement. We are creating links in South Lancaster neighbourhoods in order to build community resilience and to build back stronger and more equitably. The project is sited in the center of a diverse community and we are working to break down barriers and build on community assets from grassroots experts outwards.
