PhilanthroKids

  • Project Type: Building giving habits
  • Issue Area: Children and Youth

PhilanthroKids – Young Children Empowerment Programme aims to empower kindergarten K2-K3 children through philanthropy. It provides professional training, talks & workshops and lessons to teachers, parents and school students respectively. Young children learn about PhilanthroKids’ Ten Core Values – Kindness, Honesty, Respect, Openness, Generosity, Gratitude, Sympathy, Empathy, Responsibility and Trustworthiness. Then, they can align these values with the giving of their 3Ts – Time, Talent and Treasure by acting them out in their daily lives. The program starts with the briefing and training of the adults then completed by the lessons and actions of the children. At the end of the Programme, the students and teachers will be invited to participate in the annual PhilanthroKids GivingTuesday Ambassador Awards and Outstanding Teacher Awards. There is a total of five categories of nominations – kindergarten, primary lower and upper, secondary lower and upper. The Award is open to all the school students in Hong Kong. Awardees will be recognized with trophies as well as scholarships. Besides the Ten Core Values, demonstration of Growth Mindset is a prerequisite for PhilanthroKids GivingTuesday Ambassadors.
