Regina Guzman

Regina Guzman is a researcher, practitioner, and advocate for education justice. She’s been working in this field for over a decade as co-founder of an education NGO in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania and is now a PhD student in education at the University of Cambridge. Regina was born in Mexico, grew up in the US, and has lived in a handful of countries.

The Waka Waka Project works to fund scholarships for children in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania who otherwise wouldn’t get the chance to attend school. The students they sponsor come from vulnerable homes and circumstances of extreme poverty, where education opens doors not only for the future but for health and well-being as the students grow up.
