Mumtaz Begum has completed her Master’s and is actively involved in multiple community projects related to water, health, education, and environment. She has also been involved in “Swachhta Abhiyan”, a cleanliness project supported by the Government of India and UNICEF for 2 years, in 5 model villages. With the tools and resources she will gain from the Starling India Collective, she wants to empower the women in her village by increasing their earning potential, primarily through skills-training in tailoring work, thus ensuring a steady income for women in the community.
