Baali Jagat was part of the first generation, in her family, that received schooling. She is an avid advocate of education and of empowering others. She and a few others have collectively started an initiative that focuses on mental health, counselling, and education support for adivasis (tribals). Her Starling India Collective project is centred around encouraging children and adolescents to learn and speak their native tongue. This is so that they can appreciate their roots and their identity, thus preserving their respective tribal cultures.
