Amal Abdi works closely with refugees as part of their post-resettlement at Refugees Helping Refugees. She helps them find homes, basic supplies, getting benefits, and connecting to other organizations for resources. Amal is working on a project to increase generosity by facilitating a monthly generosity program to give back to a community member and teach them how to pass it on. She is an activist, fighting to have refugees’ and students’ voices heard, not only when it comes to schooling and basic needs but also in terms of housing, benefits, healthcare needs and understanding of the refugees’ culture and way of life.
