Little did Sue Lee and Phillis Shimamoto realize during the Holiday Season in 2011 when they collected 575 pair of socks to give away to three shelters in downtown Denver, that Socks = Love. And that by 2018 they would have given away over 360,000 pair of socks in 40 states.

With that first delivery in 7 degree weather they realized that for the thousands and thousands of men, women and children in the United States that experience homelessness, socks are their #1 clothing need. Sue and Phillis created the Sock It To Em Sock Campaign, a 501c3 that utilizes the grassroots effort of Sock Ambassadors. Sock Ambassadors are individuals, of any age that collect NEW socks from friends, family, co-workers, fellow students and neighbors. They then count the socks, sort them and get them out to shelters, services and agencies that support those citizens in our cities that could use a little love via new socks!

The Sock It To Em Sock Campaign is making a social impact one pair of socks at a time and has come to truly know that to some, Socks = Love. It's easy to support the Sock It To Em Sock Campaign. You can do so by becoming a Sock Ambassador and by supporting us through #GivingTuesday. The Sock It To Em Sock Campaign has a goal to put new socks on the feet of all the men, women and children who are in need. Currently they are providing Sock Drawers in as many Title One Schools that they can. It's easy to get involved and you too, can discover that Socks=Love!
