Elior North America, a leading food service company with a commitment to making a positive difference in people’s lives every day, has challenged its 16,000 team members to volunteer for a minimum of one hour during the month of November in support of the Kick Hunger Challenge. The company has coordinated volunteer opportunities throughout the month and is promoting #GivingTuesday as another opportunity for team members to volunteer at local food banks and hunger-related organizations.
The Kick Hunger Challenge is an annual fundraising competition that encourages fans from all 32 NFL markets to raise money for their favorite NFL team’s local food bank.
“The Kick Hunger Challenge addresses a cause that closely aligns with our mission and allows us to support the communities where we live and work,” says Elior North America’s Chief Growth Officer Chris Ciatto. “Our teams have begun to answer the call and are actively uniting around a common cause, working together to fight hunger in their local communities.”
Elior is enabling employees to log their involvement and share their stories via a custom, internal website, where it is also tracking the organization’s overall community impact. Collectively, the team has already donated 8,398 pounds of food, logged 530 volunteer hours and donated enough money to fund 50,443 meals.
Elior North America serves more than one million meals each day to people across the United States. Through its Elior Cares program, the company strives to reach beyond its kitchens and identify opportunities to positively impact people across the country.
