Like any nonprofit, Youth Home of Little Rock depends on the community to make us truly great. The community gives us our supporters, whether those supporters join us as team members, board members, volunteers or through donations. The best thing we can do is always do our best, be our greatest, because you never know when people will respond with generosity. And last week that's what happened.
While a team member was doing some regular holiday promotion with a local media partner (KABZ 103.7 The Buzz), a long-time donor called in to pledge a $10,000 matching challenge just for #GivingTuesday. And another guest on the show, a native Arkansan who’s gone on to bigger things, well, he stepped up right then and there, with $1,000 of his own. When you have great news like this, it's easy to get the word out about #GivingTuesday. It's easy to see the generosity of Little Rock and Arkansas. In the best way, you just try to keep up! Just a few days later, another $1,000 donation came in. This isn't just good news for our organization - it's good news for philanthropy and #GivingTuesday. The day of giving is a powerful concept for fundraising and networking. It’s like a chain that keeps adding links. This year Youth Home is grateful for #GivingTuesday!
