The Live-a-thon will kick off at 9 a.m. on the ASPCA’s Facebook page and will feature hourly livestreams spotlighting various life-saving initiatives such as: the importance of pet adoption, neonate kitten care and bottle feeding, kitten fostering, puppy mill advocacy, and animal rescue during natural disasters. The event will also feature adoptable dogs from Hurricane Harvey, senior pets, and cruelty victims undergoing behavior rehabilitation.
Special guests include renowned actress Edie Falco, Mother of Dogs founder Allie Rizzo, host of Animal Planet’s “My Big Fat Pet Makeover” Travis Brorsen, Animal Planet Puppy Bowl "Rufferee” Dan Schachner, award-winning animal advocate Jill Rappaport, and Instagram-famous senior pet advocates Chloe Kardoggian and Mervin the Chihuahua.
The goal of this virtual event is to raise critical funds to help animals in need around the country while also spreading awareness about key issues like adoption and fostering. Viewers will able to donate directly to the ASPCA via the ‘Donate’ button embedded in the Facebook Live videos. Subaru of America, Inc. will match donations to the ASPCA during the livestream up to $25,000.
