In the words of Linus van Pelt, “Well Charlie Brown, it seems the holiday season is upon us.” And while we may not be trimming the tree or baking gingerbread just yet, here at ECA we’ve been busy preparing for our year-end giving celebration. This year’s campaign will see the return of our “Give Play” theme which celebrates the gifts that play and physical activity provide for people of all ages.
From physical health benefits such as decreased risk of cancer and obesity, to emotional health benefits like lowered risk of depression and improved self-confidence, the rewards of play can be life-changing. We believe the gift of play is one that every child deserves. That’s why we believe in Civic Park. We believe Civic Park has the power to transform our community by increasing opportunities for children and adults to play and be active. By increasing opportunities for physical activity, Civic Park’s programs will strive to improve the health and wellbeing of every person in our community. The facility will be a hub for sports, fitness, and community events. It will serve our children and our community as a center for play, for health, and for fun!
In order to realize our goals for Civic Park, we need your help. We invite you to show your support for Civic Park this holiday season by helping us “Give Play.” Our year-end fundraiser will launch on November 28th, a.k.a. Giving Tuesday, and will run through December 31st. This year’s event will feature exciting giveaways, contests, and prizes from local businesses including, Off the Waffle, Slightly Coffee Roasters, Café Yumm, and more!
This year’s campaign also features a special incentive to participate! Thanks to an anonymous donor, every gift made to the year-end campaign between November 28 and December 31 will be matched, up to $10,000! That means that every dollar given to the campaign will be doubled until we reach $10,000, giving us the potential to raise $20,000 for Civic Park! With your help, we know we can rise to the challenge.
Stay tuned over the coming weeks for the full lineup of campaign events and contests.
