The Community Clinic of Southwest Missouri is celebrating 25 years of service by raising $25,000 on #GivingTuesday! In 25 years, the Community Clinic has provided over 140,000 individual patient visits for the uninsured and underinsured in southwest Missouri. That equals over $11,477,780.00 dollars in donated medical and dental care!
The Clinic provides a resource for people without access to medical care with nearly 80% of our patients being the working poor—they make too much money for Missouri Medicaid but cannot afford marketplace insurance. We are supported completely by our community and we receive no government funding to provide our services. The majority of our practitioners are volunteers who are committed to helping those without access to medical or dental care. The Clinic benefits from an average of $150,000 in donated medical care each year.
Kimba Haines, Clinic patient, said: “When I first came to the Community Clinic, I was running out of my medications. I had no insurance and not enough money to get established with a doctor or afford the refill I had. The staff at the Clinic has been so good to me. They are caring people and see to it that whatever my needs are, they take care of them. Thank you to the Community Clinic!”
