If you care about the environment, you might be feeling a little bleak right now. That’s understandable. We’re talking about the air you breathe, the water you drink and swim in, the parks where your kids climb and play. It’s personal.

But you’re just one person. What can you do?

The answer might surprise you: WHATEVER YOU LOVE. Our new Team Sierra program lets supporters turn any activity or celebration into a fundraiser for the planet. In the #GivingTuesday spirit of collective action, Team members ask friends and family to donate to help the Sierra Club protect our air, water and wild places.

Not surprisingly, the idea of standing together for the planet has absolutely skyrocketed since the election. Students, grandparents, young professionals, activists of every age and interest and from every corner of the country are creating Team Sierra pages and launching innovative fundraisers to help the Sierra Club fight back against any threats we might face in the coming months.

Drew’s got a page celebrating his new baby. Mary’s taking her seven-pound puppy on a seven-mile hike. Kacey’s asking friends to contribute in honor of her 42nd birthday.

So what are YOU going to do this #GivingTuesday to save the planet we love? We hope you’ll get in on the action by creating your own Team Sierra page and doing good by nature—and soon, because a generous donor is waiting to match EVERY dollar raised up to $100,000 through December 31.
