As #GivingTuesday approaches, RAINN’s fundraising team is kicking efforts into high gear. People are turning to the National Sexual Assault Hotline and RAINN’s website in record high numbers, seeking help and information about sexual violence—and it’s RAINN’s responsibility to keep those lines open.

“I finally did some research to find somebody who could actually help me. And that’s how I found RAINN,” said Samentha Moore, a survivor of sexual violence who shared her story with RAINN (rainn.org/survivor-stories/samentha).

Time and time again, we hear from survivors like Samentha telling us just how critical it is to have a supportive reaction when first disclosing sexual assault or abuse. The National Sexual Assault Hotline does just that—support specialists who operate the hotline are trained to meet the unique needs of survivors. They’re online and on the phone ready to help, every day of the year.

Funding a 24/7 crisis hotline is no easy task. It’s takes an all-out effort across RAINN’s fundraising team, communications experts, and thousands of supporters across the country who want to make a difference in the lives of survivors.

In honor of #GivingTuesday, RAINN teamed up with Marci Matthews, a survivor of child sexual abuse and member of RAINN’s National Leadership council. Marci is encouraging people to make a difference in the lives of survivors by making a gift in support of RAINN or raising their voice over social media about the realities of sexual violence in America.

For every donation to RAINN’s #GivingTuesday campaign, Marci will match the gift, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000. She’ll also offer a $10 gift to RAINN for every Facebook post or tweet that shares important information about sexual violence and includes @RAINN01 and #givingtuesday in the post.

Whether you give with your wallet, your time, or your voice—every one has a chance to make a difference in the lives of survivors of sexual violence.
