Whether you are new to Divine Word Missionaries, or a long time friend, we’d like to focus your #GivingTuesday efforts to one of our missions, Saint Arnold Janssen parish in Togo.
This Catholic mission community is in need of a diesel-powered generator to provide reliable electricity. The cost is $600. To help students in parish literacy, educational and catechetical programs, a LCD film projector is needed. The cost is $1500.
Fr. Mathias Yaadar SVD and Fr. Martin Ayedjo Kotchoffa SVD established Saint Arnold Janssen parish, in Sadori Togo. It went from a small mission station to the thriving parish it is today. Named after the founder of Divine Word Missionaries, Saint Arnold Janssen provides a guiding light for our Divine Word Missionaries and the people they serve. Because Sadori is a big village of about five hundred, Saint Arnold Janssen parish church serves as the main gathering place of worship with an additional seven other mission stations in the surrounding area. The catechists travel long distances on their bicycles throughout the parish, proclaiming the Word of God and distributing Holy Communion. Our missionaries at Saint Arnold Janssen parish provide religious education, sacramental preparation, and visitation to the sick and aged.
Join us on #GivingTuesday give a gift, a donation, or just the power of your voice sharing our need. Help Divine Word Missionaries serving in Togo. We are grateful for your assistance. Fr. Mathias and the Saint Arnold Janssen parish in Togo will remember your intentions.
