Philanthropy is about the giving of time, talent, or treasure. Teachers across the country are pledging to TeachOne lesson about giving on Giving Tuesday.

Why? Giving connects us, builds community, and allows the opportunity for people to be a part of something bigger than themselves.

Kathy, a TeachOne ‘15 teacher says:

"By doing a whole school lesson for TeachOne on philanthropy and giving, students were able to understand the impact that they were making to help their peers. Students brought in a greater number of food items and donated more of their change to support the project. We were able to almost double the number of food baskets we provided from 25 to 40. This was such a success that we have signed up again this year to participate as a whole school."

Learning to Give's focus is on providing resources, lesson plans, and support for K-12 teachers across the US and beyond. With over 1,700 free, easy to access service-learning and philanthropy inspired lessons, teachers need only search by grade level, subject, or issue area. All lessons are Common Core and state standards aligned.

"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world," Anne Frank.

Together, we will educate a generation of youth to be caring, giving citizens. Details at www.learningtogive.org/teachone #Teach1
