Why give back?

When you have faced a difficult situation you have a few options. You can give up  or you can try to make it easier for the next person to come along.

Spencer’s Legacy Foundation was created out of a great love for our beloved father, grandfather and friend. In early January of 2014 Spencer Walden Jr.was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Our family rallied and began taking steps to manage his diagnosis. It was clear early on that this would become a full time job of doctor appointments, medical tests and treatments. One thing that gave our family a sense of control during this chaotic time was to organize his medical records in a way that gave us direction when meeting with multiple doctors.

We thought we could buy a journal or find forms on-line. There was nothing available that would give us the type of guidance we needed during that difficult time. This is how our My CAREbinder came about. Spencer’s family realized this is a tool that every family should have and we are excited to honor his memory by being of service to others.

We are not physicians or in the medical business in any way. We are just a family that has been through a tough situation like so many others and we want to make the journey just little bit easier.

We are thankful to be able to partner with different care ministries and support groups to reach as many families and individuals as possible.  There is never a cost for our services. We are funded by those that would like to "pay it forward" for the next family to have a CAREbinder.

#GivingTuesday will be a great avenue for our small non profit to reach out to our community.

Why give back? Our goal is to encourage, educate and empower as many families and individuals as possible. The knowledge that we have made a difficult path easier for just one family is priceless!
