Our food system is failing us. Families are ravaged by chronic disease brought on by poor diets, while unsustainable agricultural practices deplete the world’s resources and accelerate the rate of climate change. Industrialized agriculture — the factory farming of animals — and the unhealthy products created by this devastating system lie at the heart of these critical concerns.

At The Good Food Institute (GFI), we believe the food system should serve people, and the planet — not harm them. To make this belief a reality, we’re taking a novel approach: harnessing market forces and food innovation to promote alternatives to animal products that taste great, are priced competitively and are widely accessible. Our vision is a to create a world in which good food is the default choice, not the difficult choice. As people around the globe continue to make positive changes to their own plates, we hope they'll consider being a part of something bigger this holiday season: changing the food system we pass down to the next generation.

GFI’s team of scientists, entrepreneurs, and policy experts are working to create plant-based and clean meat alternatives to the products of factory farming. Plant-based meat is simply meat, made sustainably from plants. Clean meat is a groundbreaking innovation that allows real meat to be produced from animal cells without the environmental devastation involved in conventional meat production.

This #GivingTuesday, we're hoping to rally people near and far to join us in creating a better future for food – right now and for generations to come – by supporting our team as we work to build a food system that serves everyone. To accelerate the transition toward a good food future, our friends at Dr. Bronner's have agreed to match each gift, dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000. You want animals off of factory farms, and so do we. On November 28th, you can help accelerate this good food future twice as fast by having your gift doubled. The planet, our fellow humans, and the animals are counting on all of us. Will you join us? Please visit https://gfigivingtuesday2017.funraise.org to make a gift of any amount. Curious to learn more about our groundbreaking work? Checks us out at www.gfi.org. The future of food is bright!
